These chocolaty morsels are my version of the no-bake cookie. They are quick and easy to throw together and you probably already have all the ingredients in your pantry.
Guys, it is 1 week until Christmas! Are you all ready? It’s a weird year for us being that we have been in LA and just got home yesterday, so in our house, today is decorating day!
I’m usually the mid-November decorator so this isn’t like me at all, but starting today we are in full Christmas mode with Michael Buble on repeat, gift wrapping, maybe a Holiday movie or 2 and baking, always baking!
Now if your like me and just throwing everything together last minute these cookies are perfect. They can be done in just 20 minutes and seriously who doesn't love a little chocolate at Christmas time.
prep time 10 minutes
cook time 10 minutes
total time 20 minutes
servings 35 cookies
2 cups chocolate chips + 1/2 cup for drizzling over the top
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 cups cheerios
1 cup peanuts chopped + 1/4 cup for garnish
In a double boiler melt chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter together until smooth. Once fully melted add in vanilla and maple syrup and stir well.
Add in Cheerios and chopped peanuts and mix until all of the Cheerios are coated in the chocolate. Drop cookies onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
Place 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in a small bowl and microwave 20 seconds, stir then return to microwave for another 20 seconds or until fully melted. Drizzle over cookies then sprinkle with remaining chopped peanuts.
