Turmeric Smoothie

This turmeric smoothie is a great way to kick start your morning. With a surprising ingredient and no added sugar, you can feel good starting your day with this filling smoothie.

Have you guys been seeing people putting turmeric in everything lately? I may be a bit late to the game but better late than never right!

So since I’m so late to the game I figured I should do a bit of research as to why turmeric is so hyped up. It is such a strong anti-inflammatory that it can help with so many of the things that cause us issues, from gut health to arthritis to allergies. It certainly seems like this is one of those things that should be showing up in our diets daily!

So now my plan for the rest of the day is to figure out what else I should be putting turmeric in and also scouring my local grocery store to find the fresh stuff to add into my smoothie next time.

Ingredients

2 oranges

1 apple

1/2 head of romaine

2/3 cup of coconut or almond milk

1 cup ice

1/2 tbsp turmeric

2 tbsp vanilla

Instructions

In a blender combine peeled oranges, apple with core removed, romaine and milk. Blend on high until smooth.

Add to the blender ice, turmeric and vanilla. Blend again on high until there are no more ice chunks. Serve immediately.
